Log Swing — 2025

An interactive artwork in the form of a swing, consisting of a log created in metal.

The artwork is based on reflecting our contemporary relation to the forest and forestry. I want to portray a contradictory aspect of forest as a magical place where the imagination can wander freely, while at the same time being increasingly exploited as a natural resource. The bark is grey, the saw cut is gold. What does the forest mean for our identity as individuals, but also as a collective? Is it even possible to maintain forests with high social and biological values in today's high pace production? The artwork is made in metal with a strong focus on materiality with the aim to create a space for deeper reflection and a platform for discussion and understanding within social, ecological and economical aspects regarding forest and forestry.
